																	The construction tips in the previous article relate to building a quality roof. 
																	You can build them all just as you did the first one and they will all be identical. 
																	Set a rafter on the top plates and align the gable face of the rafter with the top plate on the gable end of the shed. 
																	As a rule of thumb you will first need to build the walls and floor before you can start to build the shed trusses. 
															
													
									
	
		
	
																	Fasten to the side of the shed using a hammer and tacks. 
																	For example installing the soffit and edge boards before the roof decking will make the job flow much easier save you lots of time. 
																	Make a birdsmouth notch at the end of each rafter to help it fit into place.

																	To build a shed roof you ll need rafter boards plywood gusset plates plywood sheathing felt roofing paper and shingles. 
																	First cut your rafter boards to size using a circular saw to make sure they fit your roof. 
																	Instead of working at a table or other raised surface it s best to build the wooden trusses on the ground. 
																	You can actually build a jig on your shed floor or any open flat floor that has enough room. 
															
													
									
	
		
	
																	Attach the rafter to the top plates using 3 8d nails at each rafter seat to top plate connection. 
																	Lay the water impermeable sheeting over the roof cutting it to size with a slight overhang. 
																	Build one truss check to see that it fits and if it does you are good to go with the rest of the trusses.
