How to remove a sunsetter fabric awning.

Using the manual crank wand continue to unroll the fabric until you expose the fabric slot in the roller bar. Hold the front bar and loosen the left front bar insert with a 5mm allen wrench and pull the insert out of the front bar. Soak the awning with clean water. Lift the legs up off the ground and begin to walk alongside the rv towards the end of the track that you split open.

Soak the awning with the cleaning solution and let it sit for 15 minutes. If your retractable awning is fairly large you will likely need another person or two to help you properly slide the spline out to remove the worn fabric and then re insert the replacement material. Install new fabric on your retractable patio awning. If needed have a third person tug the fabric along the track.

Work with 1 or 2 other people to slide the fabric out of the track. Scrub the awning with a soft bristled brush. Either remove the awning from its frame or set up a ladder to reach the top of the awning. Open the awning and allow the fabric to completely unroll.

Have a person grab hold of each awning leg. Remove the front bar from the fabric and place aside for reuse later in reassembly. The fabric is typically attached to an awning spline which is similar to a cord that slides into a groove on the roller tube. For awnings that have a sunsetter aluminum hood installed remove the hood end plate on the opposite side of the motor or gear assembly.
