If you work carefully you can seam granite in a way that is durable and nearly unnoticeable. Epoxy is usually a better choice when choosing the right glue to have durable and strong bonding on different kinds of stone. Mix the epoxy according to the package instructions and select a color that will closely match your granite so it is less visible once dry. Some installers use silicone so the countertop pieces can move.

Its chemical property makes epoxy a glue of choice on granite where the surface is very hard and not very porous. These coloring tints take the guess work out of trying to match exotic natural stone colors. It is also one of the few glues suggested for indoor and outdoor application. When to choose epoxy. A seam is the transition line that forms when two granite tops come together. Use an epoxy kit to fill the crack between slabs of granite on your counter. Carefully fill in the seam again moving back to front and wipe off any excess as you go.

Since granite countertops are expensive you want to take care when joining seams in order to make them as unnoticeable as possible. When mixed with either polyester adhesives or an epoxy they can also be used to cover up small scratches on the stone surface.
